This Code is intended to operate in Western Australia and must be applied consistently with applicable Western Australian and Commonwealth laws, regulations and safeguarding obligations.
Purpose
Parents and Guardians are partners in creating a safe and positive youth-program environment.
Expected Conduct
- Treat Queens (participants), Coaches, staff, officials and families respectfully.
- Support effort, learning, wellbeing and development rather than demanding outcomes.
- Use the formal complaints pathway rather than confronting a child or Coach during training.
- Respect all Coaches’ authority and do not coach or discipline another Queen.
- Do not photograph, film, livestream or post Queen content unless appropriately authorised.
- Provide accurate medical, emergency contact, custody, access and authorised-collection information, and update any changes promptly.
- Never use threatening, abusive, discriminatory, intimidating or sexualised conduct.
- Do not attend Queen Mode activities or collect child/ren while impaired in any way that may create a safety, wellbeing or conduct concern.
- Avoid attending Queen Mode activities or interacting with Queen Mode staff, Queens or families when unwell, contagious, or reasonably likely to be contagious with a respiratory, airborne, influenza-like or viral illness.
- Respect confidentiality and other families’ privacy.
- Model respectful behaviour for all Queens, including but not limited to your own child/ren, in all interactions with Queen Mode Queens, parents, visitors, staff and Coaches.
Concerns and Complaints
Concerns should be raised through the Complaints, Feedback & Dispute Resolution Procedure. The Concerns and Complaints point of contact is maddison@queenmode.com.au. Immediate safety concerns should be reported immediately; emergencies should be directed to emergency services on 000.
A breach of this Code may result in reasonable and proportionate action, including a warning, direction to leave an activity, limits on attendance or communication, suspension of participation, referral through the complaints process, or contact with emergency services or relevant authorities where required.
This Code is Queen Mode policy and can be used and enforced as guidance for running of the Queen Mode program. It does not replace any statutory duty, contract, venue requirement, insurance condition, safeguarding obligation or direction from a regulator or law enforcement agency.
