Our Commitment
Sports And Fitness Experts, through Queen Mode, is committed to promoting the safety, wellbeing and dignity of children and young people. Queen (participant) safety and best interests take priority over program convenience or performance.
We aim to:

- Promote respectful behaviour
- Prevent bullying, harassment and discrimination
- Provide safe training environments
- Encourage Queens to speak up when something does not feel right
- Take concerns seriously
- Maintain appropriate reporting and response procedures
- Respect privacy and dignity
- Create an environment where every Queen can participate safely
Child Safeguarding Policy
This policy is intended to operate in Western Australia and must be applied consistently with applicable Western Australian and Commonwealth laws, regulations and safeguarding obligations.
Safeguarding Principles
- Treat children and young people with dignity and respect.
- Encourage Queens to speak, ask questions and raise concerns.
- Maintain professional boundaries between adults and Queens.
- Use appropriate supervision and communication arrangements.
- Take concerns seriously, document appropriately and escalate under applicable requirements.
- Share information only when appropriate and lawful, including where needed to protect a child.
Professional Boundaries
- Coaches will never engage in any unnecessary one-on-one interactions with Queens.
- All communication will be through approved and designated Queen Mode communication channels (for example Parents and Guardians, the Queen Mode email, or other approved channels).
- No training methods involving sexualising, humiliating, threatening or inappropriate contact will be used.
- No private communications or secrecy about safety concerns with Queens.
- Queen Mode will always follow approved photography, media, transport, collection and device procedures.
Responding to Concerns
We will listen calmly, take concerns seriously, avoid leading questions, will not promise secrecy, record relevant information promptly and follow escalation/reporting requirements. Immediate dangers that require emergency assistance will be treated as per the Australian Standard Emergency Action Plan of the relevant venue(s).
If Something Doesn’t Feel Right
A Queen should feel comfortable speaking with:
- The Coach
- A Parent or Guardian
- Another trusted adult
- An appropriate child safety or support service
Concerns will be handled according to Queen Mode’s applicable policies and legal obligations. Ordinary complaints go through the Complaints, Feedback & Dispute Resolution procedure.
