This Code is intended to operate in Western Australia and must be applied consistently with applicable Western Australian and Commonwealth laws, regulations and safeguarding obligations.
Professional Standards
- Put Queen (participant) safety and wellbeing first.
- Maintain role-appropriate qualifications, clearances and training.
- Deliver age-appropriate training within scope of competence.
- Use respectful, constructive and non-humiliating coaching methods.
- Maintain professional boundaries and avoid inappropriate relationships or favouritism.
- Use approved communication channels and protect privacy.
- Report safeguarding, medical, injury, conduct and safety concerns promptly to the appropriate people and through the appropriate channels.
- Follow emergency, incident, attendance, collection, device and media procedures.
- Never work while impaired by alcohol or drugs.
- Treat colleagues, families, venues and partners professionally.
Physical Contact
Physical contact must be necessary, appropriate to the activity, proportionate, professionally justified and respectful of the Queen’s boundaries. Verbal instruction and demonstration should be used wherever practical.
Accountability
Breaches may result in coaching, retraining, supervision changes, removal from duties, suspension or termination, and may be reported where required.
